Kepsipi (Psychological and Pedagogical Support Center) is a historic private center specializing in mental health and special education, founded in 1980. The facility is located in Korydallos, a municipality in the western urban area of Athens, on the outskirts of Piraeus. Established in response to the historical structural shortcomings of the Greek public healthcare system in the psychological field, the center boasts nearly fifty years of activity in the region.
The center adopts a holistic approach, integrating the biological and psychosocial dimensions of developmental and mental health disorders. The core of its work is based on two pillars:
Early Diagnosis: promptly identifying children's difficulties as soon as they first appear.
Early Intervention: implementing targeted rehabilitation and support programs to reduce the impact of disorders on growth.
Kepsipi employs a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, child neuropsychiatrists and specialized educators to provide treatment for children, adolescents, and adults:
Assessment and Diagnosis: clinical screening for developmental and learning disabilities.
Speech Therapy: treatment of language and communication disorders.
Individualized Special Education: tailored educational support for the management of behavioral and learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia).
Occupational Therapy: occupational therapy aimed at enhancing the child's independence.
Psychological Support and Psychotherapy: individual or family-wide therapy (Family Therapy).
Parent Counseling: educational sessions to help parents manage their children's behavior or academic challenges.
In addition to clinical care for patients, the center works socially and academically through awareness programs and educational sessions on mental health in local schools and institutions. It organizes specialized courses for therapists dedicated to modern clinical intervention methods, and produces scientific publications through the writing of books and informational materials for educators, organizations and families.
