Nursery in Parma

A tailor-made and stimulating environment

Present for nearly 50 years in the heart of Parma, it has been in a new location for the past fifteen years, located in a hub of Parma's economic and artisanal activities.

The Mary Poppins Nursery School is a living environment where Bruno Munari's active pedagogy intertwines and complements that of Montessori. At the Mary Poppins Nursery School, experiential programs continually evolve and evolve to provide rapid and dynamic responses, seeking to identify the "best" way to grow with children and families.

The service is housed in a building with a large outdoor terrace and offers a variety of spaces and materials, diversified by their use. The Nursery School section unfolds in a cozy area, a corner for life and child-friendly domestic activities, featuring areas for symbolic play, a care corner, and natural materials for heuristic play. Books are an enveloping presence throughout the service.

"If I listen, I forget; if I see, I remember; if I do, I understand." This is how Munari loved to describe his pedagogical philosophy, opening up a significant intersection with Maria Montessori's "help me do it myself." Both embody the message every child conveys to adults. This message translates into a request for help in developing skills and independence.

At the heart of everything is a profound respect for children, for their uniqueness, inclinations, characteristics, and developmental pace.
From nursery to primary school, the activities, stimuli, and moments of care throughout the day are driven by what the institution believes in: the value of play, imagination, freedom, discovery, nature, and art.
